A remnant from the last Ice Age the Musk Ox. This image was taken in Dovrefjell, Norway, in January 2022. A young Musk Ox slowly meanders through the landscape at the top of the mountain in search of food and shelter from the harsh environment.
When I gaze at the image, it immediately takes me back to that moment in time and gives me a sense of the daily struggle and isolation that living here involves. These animals are specialists and truly adapted to survive in the extreme cold.
